Hermosa Drive School Site Council

What is the purpose of the School Site Council (SSC)?

The School Site Council (SSC) is a collaborative decision-making team made up of parents, teachers, school staff, and the principal. Schools that receive categorical funding are required to have an SSC to help ensure these resources are used to support student learning and achievement.

The primary responsibility of the SSC is to review, develop, and approve the school's School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). Throughout the school year, the council meets regularly to examine student achievement data, identify school needs, monitor the implementation of the SPSA, and approve the use of categorical funds to support the goals outlined in the plan.

Members are elected by their respective groups and serve two-year terms. Candidates receiving the most votes are elected to serve on the council.
