Hermosa Drive is kicking off the new decade with a month of kindness! For the whole month of January, Hermosa Drive students and staff will be celebrating kindness with many different activities. From spirit days to journal writing to art projects, students will be completing acts of kindness each day for one another and the community.
In October, Hermosa Drive won the Fullerton Education Foundation Kindness Grant in honor of a former student, Katie Monson. We were so honored to win this grant and be able to honor her memory by teaching and celebrating kindness with our entire school. For more information, follow the KM Legacy Foundation at @kmlegacyfdn on Instagram, The KM Legacy Foundation on Facebook, or the website: kmlegacyfdn.org.
Kindness, gratitude, and empathy are all skills needed to live a healthy and happy life. In addition to the month of kindness, staff was trained at the beginning of January on restorative circles to build community and compassion with students. We believe that kindness is contagious, so we will be throwing it around like confetti!
